Our beliefs

Statement of Faith

Vine Church has been formed as a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Jesus and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such; only to their overemphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.

We are a nondenominational church.

We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ’s love (agape), which is greater than any difference we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves as Christians. In our services we focus on a personal relationship with God through song, worship, prayer, and the clear teaching of the Word of God.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, and that it is fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible serves as the supreme authority and ultimate foundation for our faith and life. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, ensuring their truth and reliability. We are committed to studying and teaching God’s Word faithfully, trusting that it is fully trustworthy and sufficient for guiding us in our walk with Christ. As 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

THE TRINITY

We believe there is only one living and true God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each distinct from the other, each are fully God, and equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

THE FATHER

We believe that God the Father is infinite, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; He is unchangeable, holy, righteous, just, merciful, gracious, and able to forgive sin. He concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of men, He hears and answers prayer; and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

THE SON

The Bible ascribes the same attributes of God to His Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, totally without sin, God in human flesh. He died on the cross for the sins of the world, He was buried, He rose from the dead on the third day, He ascended to the right hand of the Father in heaven, where He now lives to intercede for us who believe in him.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The activities and characteristics of God are attributed to the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower in ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service, either at the time of or subsequent to regeneration, which is a separate work form the indwelling Spirit for salvation, evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life, enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, love. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Spirit as reflected through the fruit of that same Spirit. We believe that life in Christ is lived through the ongoing power and work of the Holy Spirit.

MANKIND + SIN + SALVATION

We believe that every person is created in the image of God with the purpose of glorifying Him and enjoying a relationship with Him. We believe all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all of his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord. Salvation cannot be earned through our own efforts, but is freely offered to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ, we are made new by the Holy Spirit, declared righteous before God, and adopted into His family forever.

THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, with Jesus as its head. All who have placed their faith in the finished work of Christ are part of this universal Church. We are called to gather together as a local community of believers, devoted to worship, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word, and fellowship. As a church, we seek to glorify God by living in obedience to His commands, serving one another with our gifts, and sharing the gospel with the world. Together, we work in love and unity, intent on making Christ known and building His Kingdom.

BAPTISM + COMMUNION

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: Baptism and The Lord’s Supper (Communion). We believe in baptism by immersion and communion, both of which are open to all believers in Jesus Christ. Baptism is a public declaration of a believer’s faith in Jesus Christ, symbolizing their identification with His death, burial, and resurrection through full-immersion in water. It is anact of obedience, celebrating the transformative work of Christ in our lives. Communion serves as a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and to reflect on His return. These practices are expressions of love and devotion not requirements of salvation, but important acts of worship and fellowship within the church.

HEAVEN + HELL

We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell. Those who have placed their faith, hope, and trust in Jesus will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord and experience eternal joy and life in His presence in Heaven. Those who reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from God in Hell. Our eternal destination is determined by our response to Jesus Christ.

RAPTURE + SECOND COMING

We await the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the church where all believers will meet the Lord in the air and be taken out of this world prior to the Tribulation that will come upon the earth, and we believe in the literal Second Coming of Christ with His saints to rule the earth, which will be personal and visible. This motivates us to holy living, heartfelt worship, committed service, diligent study of God’s Word, regular fellowship, participation in baptism and communion.

MARRIAGE

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, with Jesus as its head. All who have placed their faith in the finished work of Christ are part of this universal Church. We are called to gather together as a local community of believers, devoted to worship, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word, and fellowship. As a church, we seek to glorify God by living in obedience to His commands, serving one another with our gifts, and sharing the gospel with the world. Together, we work in love and unity, intent on making Christ known and building His Kingdom.

ISRAEL

We believe the nation of Israel has a special place in God’s plan both past, present and future, and that all of the promises of God to Israel will be fulfilled both now and at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to establish His millennium reign.

OUR VALUES

At Vine Church, our beliefs shape who we are and how we live. They’re more than just statements on a page— they’re the foundation for everything we do. We invite you to explore what we believe and see how these truths can bring hope and purpose to your life.

OUR VISION

At Vine Church, discipleship and evangelism is the heart. We will intentionally come alongside believers and help them follow Jesus and we will do anything short of violating someones free will and sin to reach people who don’t know Jesus.

DISCIPLESHIP

Our desire is to help people follow Jesus. John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” We simply follow the example of Jesus, and His discipleship of the disciples was centered on God’s Word. It is vital for the Bible to be the single greatest influence in our lives. When someone falls in love with the Bible, they will fall in love with Jesus, and the more you hangout with Jesus, the more you will become like Jesus.

EVANGELISM

Our desire is to see lives changed by the Good News of the Gospel. Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” We simply follow the example of Jesus, and Jesus is always on mission. We may long for heaven, but it is on earth where the work gets done.
